#175 – To set a boundary use these words: “When you”, “I feel,” “I want,” and, “these are the consequences if you refuse to comply.”

When someone violates your boundaries, you need to let them know that you will not tolerate their behavior. It’s important to be specific. It isn’t always necessary to announce the consequences, however it is essential that you choose them in your own mind and commit to carry them out if necessary. You are not less important than others and sometimes it’s necessary for you to stand up for yourself.

About sand1

When I was young, I made a lot of bad choices. The only way I knew to dig myself and my family out was to go to the library, always hoping that the next book I read would change my life and thankfully, often many of them did. Out of gratitude for the happy life I have now, I decided to share what I have learned, and continue to learn. I hope that Tuesday Tips helps you as much as they have helped and continue to help me.
