#215 – Dealing with Emotional Vampires – Judith Orloff MD, Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and author of Emotional Freedom: Liberate Yourself From Negative Emotions and Transform Your Life

 The most common types of emotional vampires are narcissist, victim, controller, constant talker, and drama queen.  Your tone of voice is critical when dealing with them.  Speak in a matter of fact or compassionate manner, set limits, and use not interested body language such as crossing your arms while calmly explaining that you have work to do.  It takes practice, but it’s definitely worth it.
